At Seaflower Yoga Joy believes aging is an honorable process. As we age we
gain a certain wisdom from the years we carry behind us.  As we age our lives
become free from work and many daily responsibilities, we have more time to
focus on our family, leisure and most importantly, for taking care of
ourselves.  
In western society it is common for people to have a negative outlook on
aging.  By taking on that outlook depression often sets in.  Joy encourages her
elder students to embrace this stage of life with acceptance.  Everyone
deserves to feel good about how we can serve ourselves, our families and our
community by just having a positive outlook with gratitude for all that we
have lived through and seen throughout our lifetime.
Yoga can transform us at our very core and awaken immeasurable joy.

Senior Yoga Classes
Private Yoga
In each posture there are manual adjustments that will help you to understand the relationships between the muscle groups
and body parts being engaged and lengthened.  To develop a deeper understanding of how your body engages in each
posture, the instructor will apply gentle but firm pressure in specific areas so that your body’s natural intuition will be
enhanced.  There is never any strain placed on your body.
If you are new to yoga, working one-on-one with a yoga instructor can give you the knowledge you need to go into poses
safely with proper alignment and modifications tailored to your specific body and needs.  
Private Instruction is a great way to take your practice to new places. Hands-on
adjustments and detailed, personalized guidance with each posture will help you rebuild strength and confidence. It will
deepen your understanding of each pose and how it best suits your body.
